Types of Figure of speech in English
> Alliteration
Is a figure of speech that has a function to beautify the types of English sentences. One of the characteristics of alliterations is that they have repeated consonant sentences. Example:
- The wild walrus waits and wonders when we'll walk by.
- She sells seashells.
- Walter wondered where Winnie was.
- Blue baby bonnets bobbed through the bayou.
> Metaphore
Is a figure of speech that is used to compare something or an idea. For example:
- Heart of stone
- Time is money
- The world is a stage
> Onomatopoeia
Onompatopoeia is a figure of speech that specifically writes the sound of something. Example:

> Personification
Personification is a type of figure of speech that gives "life" to inanimate objects. What does it mean? The point is that the sentence used in the sentence gives a picture of the object as if the object is alive. Example:
- The flowers are nodded.
- The snowflakes danced.
- The thunder grumbled.

Simile is a figure of speech that compares or presupposes something or an object. Sometimes, similes like to be confused with metaphors which also have a form of comparison. In Indonesian, we know this figure of speech as hyperbole. Same as in English, this hyperbole tense seems to exaggerate something. Example:

Anaphora is a writing technique in which a phrase or beginning in a word is the same and is repeated in a sentence. Usually anaphora is used in writing poetry, fairy tales, speech, or poetry to make it more rhythmic. Example:
- I came, I saw, I conquered. - Julius Caesar
- Mad world! Mad kings! Mad composition! - King John II, William Shakespeare
- It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness. - A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens

Is a word or term used to represent all objects. For example:
- Wheels - Represents the mention of cars.
- Plastic - In America there is a term plastic for a credit card or debit card.
- Coke - Used to refer to any fizzy drink.
